Whiteface Mountain Bike Park: 7-1-09 update

Opening weekend was a blast thanks to our friends from Downhill Quebec.com.

Whiteface Mountain in the summer is just beautiful:

It's rare to be able to see the summit from the base for a mountain this size. Whiteface is steep!

In the spirit of keeping it “green” our pump track just had a nice make over:

New lines and a new look. Enjoy!

2 riders and their bikes fit comfortably inside the gondola. 12 minutes up and 2,456 feet of some of the best downhill anywhere!

All aboard

Now for some riding shots:

This new 5 foot drop is just below the pump track.

You can always count on seeing this father and son shredding on Whiteface’s opening day.

Saturday night after a day of riding a crowd of over 70 gathered to see Sam Perkins perform his trials show.  Then we headed inside for a  showing of the 3-d film Truth & Beauty. The 3-D effects were awesome on the big screen, and Sam got the crowd all fired up. Thanks Sam for the trials show and thanks to Nat Bartholamew for the film.

The Whiteface Mountain Bike Park has trails for all abilities. We do have some of the gnarliest terrain around, but for those just getting into downhilling our shuttle bus is perfect:
